Our Home Tour: A Look Inside
When Kyle and I decided to move out of the city and build our first real family home, I knew I wanted it to feel warm, minimal, and truly “us.” But designing a whole house from scratch? That was a little (okay, a lot) outside my comfort zone — so we called in the experts.
We worked with Chango & Co., an incredible interior design studio, and they made the entire process not only doable, but really enjoyable. From Pinterest boards to presentations, they helped us narrow down what we both loved — and somehow blended our styles into a space that feels like home in every way.

The Process
We started by pinning images we were drawn to — and that simple exercise helped us discover our shared taste: clean lines, soft textures, pops of color, and warm, natural elements. Chango took those references and brought back the most thoughtful, detailed design plans.
I still can’t believe I missed the full install (I was away for work!) — but walking into the finished home for the first time felt like a dream. Every corner, every room, every little detail had been considered. It was so us.
A Few Favorite Spaces
Teddy’s Room
I loved getting to be bold and playful in our daughter’s room — the wallpaper, the colors, the bathroom... it’s just such a warm, happy space. It was my favorite to dream up and see come to life.
The Living Room
This was my chance to finally have a real living room — something you just don’t get in New York apartments. I told Susana I wanted “fluffy chairs,” and after a little convincing (hi, Kyle!), I got them. It’s one of the coziest rooms in the house.
The Kitchen + Family Room
The kitchen island is one of my favorite design features — this beautiful, white monolith of stone that ties right into the fireplace in the next room. We also added built-ins to hide all the toys, blankets, and, yes, the giant TV. Super functional and still beautiful.
Kyle’s Office & Bathroom
I have to admit — I didn’t fully trust Kyle’s vision for this space at first. He was leaning into moodier tones, and I was a little unsure… but now? It might be one of my favorite rooms in the house.
His office and bathroom feel so cool and elevated — with darker colors, striking textures, and just the right amount of drama. It was a reminder that his influence added so much to the overall design, and I’m so glad we had Chango there to help balance both of our styles.
The Final Result
I’ll never forget the feeling of walking into our home for the first time. It felt finished, calm, personal — like somewhere we could truly grow into.
It’s such a compliment when people come over and say, “This house is so you guys.” That’s exactly what I wanted. A space for our family to make memories, for the kids to run around, for Kyle and I to unwind. And I’m so grateful to Chango & Co. for bringing it to life with us.
