Lessons From Women Who Inspire Me
Over the years, I’ve been incredibly lucky to be surrounded by strong, inspiring women who have shaped me into who I am today. From my mom, to my best friend, to my daughter — each one of these women has taught me valuable lessons about strength, authenticity, and growth. I wanted to share a few of the ways they’ve impacted me, and the things I carry with me because of them.
Teddy (my daughter)
She may still be little, but my daughter Teddy inspires me every single day. There’s something so pure and joyful about how authentic children are, and Teddy reminds me constantly to be brave — she often tells me she’s brave, and that I need to be brave too. It’s like having my own little motivational speaker in the house.
I love how she notices and appreciates the smallest details in life, encouraging me to slow down and do the same. Teddy makes me want to be a better mother, person, wife, and daughter. I know I’m supposed to be guiding her through life, but the truth is: she’s been guiding me since the day she was born.
My Mom
When I first started modeling as a teenager, my mom traveled with me everywhere — and she always left an impression on everyone we met. People would often ask about her long after meeting her because she’s truly unforgettable. My mom is funny, full of life, emotionally intelligent, and incredibly strong. But above all, she’s always her authentic self, and I think that’s one of the reasons so many people are naturally drawn to her.
I’ve learned so much from my mom and feel incredibly lucky to have grown up with such a strong, confident woman as my example.
My Best Friend
One of the things I value most about my best friend, Christina, is that we can talk about absolutely anything — from lighthearted pop culture chats to deeper, soul-searching conversations. She’s always there, through every season of life.
Over the years, I’ve watched Christina evolve as a co-founder, a mother, and a wife, and I admire her strength so deeply. She approaches every situation with a level head, emotional intelligence, and true grace. She’s endlessly supportive, and best of all: she just gets me. Christina constantly encourages me to grow, try new things, and continue evolving — and I’m so grateful to have her in my life.
My Takeaway
Each of these women has played such an important role in my life. They’ve challenged me, supported me, and helped shape who I am — not just in big ways, but in all the small, everyday moments too. I feel incredibly lucky to have these relationships, and I’m constantly learning from them as I move through different seasons of life.
